The management regulation of “Senior Visiting Scholar” has been implemented by the Chinese Academy of Science since 1998.

     The recruitment of senior visiting scholar has become more important as a main part of talents-attracting plan. Since the implementation of the Knowledge Innovation Program, 42 domestic and oversea senior visiting scientists have visited DICP; the research projects of the host research group of DICP have been promoted through this kind of short-term exchange and cooperation.

     These senior visiting scientists have published 31 Journal papers, 4 conference papers, 4 patent applications, 3 book chapters. They have co-supervised many graduate students and post-doctors.

     The senior visiting scholars’ research ability has been significantly improved through the cooperation with our scientists. They have become the academic leaders after returning to their original institutions. The implementation of senior visiting scholars’ scheme is very constructive to promote the knowledge propagation, the exchange of talents and research ideas.
