With the concept of human oriented, DICP has developed comprehensive collaborations with international scientific institutions and companies. During the last four years, DICP has established formal contacts with major research and academic organizations in more than 32 countries and regions, and invited more than 875 scientists to visit our institute and participate in academic activities. We also have dispatched 830 scientists to foreign countries to attend the academic activities. During this period, about 8 scientists from the DICP have held positions in 13 international academic organizations. Nineteen foreign distinguished experts and scholars are invited to be honorary professors, guest professors or to hold adjunct posts in DICP including Dr. Richard J. Roberts, the 1993 winner of Nobel Prize for Medicine and Prof. Wüthrich, the winner of the Nobel Prize of 2002, and Prof. Vogt, nominee of the Nobel Prize in the year of 1975 and 2002. In 2001, Prof. Xueming Yang, the winner of 2002 Achievement in Asia Award by Oversea Chinese Physicists Association, joined DICP and developed an international cooperation group on molecular reaction dynamics. To support foreign distinguished scientists to work at DICP, a special fund worth of RMB500, 000 per annum has been earmarked for those academic visitors who spend more than 3 months on international cooperative projects at DICP. DICP has sponsored and launched an international journal “Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry”. To upgrade the research standards, DICP has implemented an international appraisal for fundamental research since 2001.
