Introduction:
Founded in 1995, the Natural products and Glycoconjugate research Group focuses on chemical structure and biological function of natural product and glycoconjugate. This group has been financially supported by nine national science and technology foundations, including China National Science Foundation. Research areas cover from mechanism of various oligossacharide against plant diseases to biological models for drug screening. State of Art research utilities in this group provide excellent environment for basic and applied scientists, graduate student both for Ph.D. and master’s degree, and technicians.

Being well known as an applied science institute, DICP certainly has its advantage to lead developed biotechnology to final products. Thirteen patents, so far, have been granted to our group, and several agricultural and health products have been developed and pushed to the market.

The long-term goal for us is to establish the best R&D center on natural products and glycoconjugate in China. The goal will be achieved by combination of broad functional study on agriculture, human health, and environment protection, with detailed analysis by utilizing molecular biology techniques.

Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics(DICP) is one of the key research institutes in ChineseAcademy of Sciences. Currently, life sciences in this institute become the most actively growing area promoted by its strong analytical background on macromolecule separation and identifications, such as HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, Lab-on-Chip, and etc.

Research Interests:
    1. Column liquid chromatography (LC) separation and analysis from nanoscale (500nl/min) to pilot preparative scale (800ml/min) to meet the requirements for in vivo bioanalysis like the extracellular neurotransmitters in brain and large scale natural compounds purification in plant extracts. For in vivo bioalaysis, a new miniaturized sampling method is developed.

      2. Rapid and high throughput comprehensive chemical screening of natural plants by combing LC based hyphenation like LC-MS-MS and LC-NMR with rapid sample extraction and preparation method like matrix solid phase dispersion (MSPD).This includes discovery of minor new active compounds along with de novo structure elucidation.

      3. Researches on multi-components interaction happened in Chinese Fufang.

      4. Chinese Medicine (CM) quality control by marked compounds or fingerprint methods.
