Led by Prof. Dr. Yonggui ZHOU, the group was established in September 2002. At present the group consists of 2 scientists and 4 graduate students engaging on investigations of asymmetric catalysis and synthesis, with emphasis on asymmetric hydrogenation of heteroaromatic compounds and total synthesis of tetrahydroquinoline alkaloids.
Research Interests :
Asymmetric Catalysis and Synthesis
(1) Transition metal-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of heteroaromatic compounds: Asymmetric hydrogenation of heteroaromatic compounds with chiral transition metal complexes as catalysts, especially qunolines and isoquinolines.
(2) Synthesis and application of some novel chiral ligands: Synthesis of some novel chiral ligands with sulfur; Design and synthesis of some new chiral ligands based on Stacking Effects.
(3) Asymmetric total synthesis of alkaloids: Total synthesis of some quinoline and isoquinoline alkaloids based on methodology of asymmetric hydrogenation of quinolines and isoquinolines.
Researh Projects :
