Introduction:
      The group was set up in 2003, led by Prof. Dr. Qihua YANG, with 1 staff scientist and 5 graduate students. The research of the group focuses on the synthesis of organic/inorganic hybrid materials for the application in the fields of catalysis and separation. The organic/inorganic hybrid materials are of scientific and technological interest because of their ability to combine the advantages derived from both the organic group and inorganic group. Our strategies for the synthesis of organic/inorganic materials involve the supramolecular synthesis of periodic mesoporous organosilicas, Sol-gel synthesis of hybrid organic/inorganic amorphous materials, and surface organometallic synthesis of organometallic complex functionalized materials. The aim of our research is to design and synthesis of organic/inorganic hybrid materials with functionalities for the production of fine chemicals and as the chiral stationary phase for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).

      1. Synthesis of organic-inorganic hybrid materials functionalized with various organic and metal active sites;

      2. Catalytic production of fine chemicals;

      3. Heterogeneous asymmetric catalysis;

      4. Chiral separation

      5. Heavy metal adsorbents.
