Research Fields:
Research areas are based on the investigation of new catalytic reactions, new catalytic materials and new catalyst characterization techniques. The emphasis is on in situ characterization under dynamic conditions of catalytically active phases, active sites and reaction mechanisms, and the development for the conversion of light alkanes, catalytic synthesis of fine chemicals and environmental catalysis.

     New Catalytic Reactions

  • Dehydro-aromatization of methane in the absence of oxygen
  • Ethylene from the coupling reaction of ethane and CO2
  • Selective hydrogenation of organic molecules on nitride catalysis
  • Environmentally benign synthesis of epoxides
  • Asymmetric hydrogenation and epoxidation on heterogeneous catalysts
  • Removal of Nox, Sox and VOCs
  • Membrane catalysis for reaction and separation
  • Catalytic conversion of light alkanes in the membrane reactor

Design and Preparation of New Catalysis

  • Preparation of oxide catalysts with controllable pore structure by the sol-gel technique
  • Preparation of inorganic membrane with sub-nano pore diameter
  • Preparation of mixed ion electron conducting membrane for oxygen permeation or hydrogen permeation
