The establishing of the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis (SKLC) was authorized by the State Planning Committee in 1984, and the work on its construction was completed by the end of 1987. It was certified as operational in December, 1987. The Director of the SKLC is Professor Can Li . The Academic Committee of the SKLC is composed of 15 well-knownChinese catalytic scientists. The Chairman of the Academic Committee is Academician Professor Liwu Lin. There are permanent staff members (high grade, middle grade), technicians and administrators. In addition, the SKLC appoints internationally well-known catalytic scientists to its International Advisory Committee.
