Scholar from the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), USA, Prof. Peidong Yang was invited to visit DICP from 24th to 27th of September to attend the cerebration activities of the 60th Anniversary of DICP. On 25th September, Prof. Yang was invited to deliver an Anniversary Memorial Lecture on the topic of "Semiconductor nanowires for energy conversion". The lecturing session was presided over by Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP. Over 200 DICP scientists and graduate students listened to Prof. Yang's lecture. After the lecture, Prof. ZHANG Tao presented to Prof. Yang an Honorary Lecture Certificate of the 60th Anniversary of DICP.
During his stay in DICP, Prof. Yang was invited to visit the Space Catalysis & New Materials Laboratory, the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Dynamics, the Bio-Tech Division, and the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis, and conducted academic exchanges with the DICP researchers.
Prof. Yang is at present Professor of the Chemistry Department, UC Berkeley. He is also Chairman of the Nano-science Division of the American Chemical Society and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of American Chemical Society. |
