Visiting of Prof. Peter J. Stang in DICP |

Prof. Peter J. Stang of the University of Utah, USA, was invited to visit DICP from 22nd to 25th of September to participate in the cerebrating activities of the 60th Anniversary of the institute. On 24th September, Prof. Stang delivered an Anniversary Memorial Lecture with the title of "Abiological Self-Assembly: Predesigned Metallacycles and Metallacages via Coordination". The lecturing session was chaired by Prof. LI Can, Vice-Director of DICP. Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP, attended the lecturing session, and presented to Prof. Stang an Honorary Lecture Certificate of the 60th Anniversary of DICP. More than 100 DICP scientists and graduate students were present in the lecturing session.
During his stay in DICP, Prof. Stang had discussions with the research scientists of the 1101 Group of the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Dynamics on collaboration programs between his team and the DICP partner, and expressed the hope that it is possible to utilize the theories and experimental techniques of molecular dynamics for the studies of the kinetics of self-assembly of supermolecules.
Prof. Stang was also invited to visit the Space Catalysis & New Materials Laboratory and the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis of DICP. |
