Prof. CHEN Hongyuan as Distinguished Guest of DICP in Celebration Activity |

Prof. CHEN Hongyuan, Professor of Nanjing University and Member of CAS, was invited to attend the 60th Anniversary Cerebration Ceremony on 21st September, and as a Distinguished Guest, he was invited to give DICP Awards of Ten Highest Innovation Achievements in the last 10 years to the winners of the DICP scientists.
On 22nd September, Prof. Chen delivered a memorial lecture for the cerebration of the anniversary of the institute with the topic of "Today and Tomorrow of Analytical Chemistry". The lecturing session was presided over by Prof. LI Can, Vice-Director of DICP. About 150 DICP scientists and graduate students were present in the lecturing session.
In his lecture, Prof. Chen first retrospected the developing history of analytical chemistry. He remarked that "Chemistry was essential with the emerging of science and technology of mankind, and Chemistry began from Analytical Chemistry." By combining with his age-long research experience, he gave his own definition of "analytical chemistry", and introduced the developing trends and orientations of analytical chemistry based on his definition. Then he reviewed the research work of his research team, mainly on studies based on highly efficient biomimetic interfaces. He also encouraged young scientists to push forward actively the analytic chemistry science with an exploring spirit.
After the lecture, Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP, bestowed with Prof. Chen an Honorary Lecture Certificate for the Cerebration of the 60th Anniversary of DICP.
