Lecture on Chemistry Progress by Prof. LIANG Wenping |

Prof. LIANG Wenping of the Chemistry Department of China National Natural Foundation of Sciences was invited to deliver a memorial lecture for the celebrating of the 60th Anniversary of DICP on 20 September. His lecture topic was "Chemistry and Innovation." In his lecture, Prof. Liang first introduced the present status of chemistry in the world, illustrating his talk with the number of papers published recently, citation statistics of the papers, and the ranking of the citation among other science fields. Then, he focused on the progresses achieved in the chemistry field of China, including catalytic chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry and so on. Finally, Prof. Liang discussed the development trends of chemistry in the States, Europe, Japan, etc., especially the trends relating to energy development.
After the lecture, Prof. Liang was presented an Honorary Lecture Certificate of the 60th Anniversary of DICP by Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP. About 200 DICP scientists attended the lecture which was chaired by Prof. LI Can, Vice-Director of DICP.
