Over the past 58 years, the DICP has not only produced a certain number of high learned senior scientists, renowned and influential in both China and overseas, but also turned out many middle-aged and young scientists with accomplishments, promising in their own fields and emerging as the leaders and backbones in different disciplines. There are 807 staffs in DICP including 84 professors and 12 academicians by the end of 2007. 
Education has always been paid more attention in the DICP, which has had graduated programs since 1955. At present, it is accredited to award PhD and M.S degrees in physical chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering and biochemical engineering. The institute has 62 PhD supervisors, and also 504 PhD students, 291 master graduate students and 39 post-doctoral fellows. There have been chemistry and chemical engineering post-doctor stations since the post-doctor station was set up in 1986.
In 1998, a 18-storey building, the EducationCenter for Graduate Study, was opened to provide modern and advanced teaching facilities as well as comfortable accommodation and apartments for graduate students. This will ameliorate the educational facilities of the institute. |
